Darling Point

I said goodbye and left Mildura at 10.30. I had great plans of buying some local oranges and avocados and then turning up at Steve & Fionas with my hands full of this great stuff, but once again, i just sailed past anyone selling on the side of the road. Why do I do that?? I was looking for the perfect place to buy and of course they don’t exist. Not in my eyes anyway.

I stopped at Balranald, alongside the Murrumbidgi for lunch, then a looooong stretch of 110 kph, flat and nothingness, nervously planting my foot to overtake long road trains and caravans. I stopped at Hay, where they have this crazy idea of reverse angle parking along the main street! They are about to celebrate their annual mardi gras and all the shops are getting into the spirit, including the local op shop which i found, but once again, was closed! Closes at 3.

Left there and once again 110kph for the next 100km. All the way to Darling Point. I did not meet another person going my way. No road trains or caravan just an annoying blow fly that hitched a lift and some Shannon Noll (btw mum, thats a singer,)

I am staying at Darling Point tonight at a nice treed and shady caravan park right next to the Murrumbidgee. I have a good spot on some grass, we’ll see how soft it is tonight. And Brett, I did try to blow up Bens mattress, but the pump ran out of power.
