I spent a lovely day with Angie wondering around Mildura and the surrounds. I missed her 50th birthday in December so it was just nice relaxing and catching with her crazy life. Finally saw her house and garden. We both bought our houses in the same year in 2011…?
To keep up the op shop hop theme, we visited a few shops. Went to the town Wentworth (not prison) where the Murray meets the Darling. Both big rivers…and Lock no 10 (or11?). In Wentworth was a crazy second hand shop, loads of old books piled to the ceiling and other junky stuff, creaky floorboards. The shop owner started telling us old stories from the old days of tunnels leading away from the local pubs, so people could escape without being busted by the police for drinking after hours. There was a great quirky gift shop where I got a gift for a niece having a birthday!
We checked out a few more shops, chips and gravey for lunch and the big lock in Mildura (that was the other number, 11?
Big day for us and we were tired after all that! We went to the local pizzeria for yummy pizza. Bumped into a couple of Angelas old school friends from Tafe, funny, they mentioned a name a blast from my past. From my days working at Bell Book and Candle. Haven’t heard that name for years!
It was a lovely day..
Hey Ann-Marie i’m really enjoying your op-shop journey; it makes for an enjoyable read. Love, Juliex
I’m glad your enjoying….I’m getting a taste for this lifestyle. Imagine having a caravan and just going whereever you want whenever you want!
